If all we needed in the plan of redemption was the death, burial, resurrection of Jesus Christ and a book called the Bible, then Jesus would not have sent us the Holy Spirit.Jesus would not have sent someone who was inadequate to replace Him when He left. The Holy Spirit is our advocate: counselor for the defense.
An advocate is called in because of his expertise in Knowledge, Protocol and procedure, and Persuasive speaking ability.
